A Calendar Comes To Life During the summer of 2007, teachers and teenage students from Connecticut Art School, located in South Windsor, provided a series of art lessons as a service to Channel 3 Kids Camp. Drawings were based on the natural environment of the camp, which included: a red hawk, brown bear, salamanders, butterflies, a Karen Rossi inspired Mother Nature, and flowers. Campers used different art media each week - tempera paints, oil pastels, watercolors, chalk pastels, and markers - to create the striking art displayed in this calendar. Each week, a different group of young artists enthusiastically expressed their creativity and talent. The teenagers who assisted with the classes were members of The Art of Community Service program at the art school. |
