Welcome to the Channel 3 Kids Camp!

If your child could design a perfect summer, it would probably include plenty of playmates, new things to do every day and a place to cool off when the summer sun gets too hot. Each year, Channel 3 Kids Camp continues to provide an exciting summer of recreation, creativity and making new friends in a fun-loving atmosphere. The Channel 3 Kids Camp would like to welcome your child to an exciting summer with lots of new people, endless activities and safe summer fun. Any 8 -12 year old, living in Connecticut, is invited to register for our overnight program. Our Day Camp program for children ages 6 -12 is perfect for those younger campers not ready to spend nights away from home or a great alternative to traditional day care.

The majority of activities require teamwork and appreciation of each others strengths. Through such activities, campers experience positive social interaction and cooperation. Emphasizing a friendly and noncompetitive environment, we aim to provide summer camp memories that can serve as inner resources upon which to build character.

While at camp, all campers receive Red Cross certified swimming lessons, participate in cabin group activities, athletics, fun & games and campfire programs. We also have special guests who visit often, like the South Windsor Kennel Club, native story teller Dr. Raouf Mama, Mystic Aquarium, the Mohegan Tribe, drummer Bob Bloom and the Master Gardeners of Connecticut. Encouraging independence, campers may choose their own self-selected activities throughout the week!

With over 4000 children, ages 6 - 16 participating in programs year round and a wide variety of activities offered, we are proud to say that the opportunities provided here are unmatched anywhere in the State. Channel 3 Kids Camp is more than just a summer camp, we are also an environmental education center, a Retreat Area for weekend programs and an after school educational service. Camp Ventures is a year-round program designed to bring educational and recreational opportunities to children in schools throughout the Greater Hartford area through hands-on science, arts, sports, and leadership programming. Camp Ventures travels to local grade schools in an after school format and is taught by trained staff. Students choose one of two different electives offered each week and participate in large group recreational games. In the fall and winter months, Channel 3 Kids Camp hosts environmental education programs in partnership with Nature's Classroom Inc. This twenty year collaberation has allowed schools from throughout New England, New York and New Jersey to experience hands-on educational programming.

Our overall objective is to provide a wonderful, educational and fun-filled camping experience on 350 acres of natural beauty. Our programming provides opportunities for campers to expand their appreciation and enjoyment of nature, have experiences that can expand their horizons and continue their education by providing fun, hands-on interactive learning experiences.

The Channel 3 Kids Camp is owned and operated by Almada Lodge-Times Farm Camp Corp. and is a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization.
